Lakewood Ranch Vanishing Edge

This pool was built to stop you the moment you walk out back. The vanishing edge pulls the water out flat to the horizon, and the engineered basin that catches it sits hidden from view. What you see is a single uninterrupted line where the pool ends and the sky begins.

Below the main pool, a sunken living area with a fire pit drops the gathering space a step or two underground. The elevation change does the heavy lifting visually. From the house you read pool first, fire and seating second, and the geometry between the two stays clean from every angle.

It still has to work day to day. The flush spa keeps the surface plane unbroken. The sun shelf gives a place to land in the shallow end. The elongated benching runs the length of the deep side, with room for two or three people to sit in the water without crowding each other. Every part of the pool has a job, and none of it gets in the way of the architecture.
